Promo Codes and Coupon Codes: New Feature on Fishing4Deals

promo codesFrom time to time, I receive discount codes from certain vendors, that I can offer to my readers.

Most often, these codes are limited time offers.  They may expire in 24 hours, or they may be good for several months.

In the past, I occasionally posted articles about these promo codes, but they do not always warrant a full blown story.

Promo Codes and Coupon Codes

Going forward, I will post promo codes and coupon codes under the Resources tab at the top of the page (drill down to the Promo Codes tab).

The vendors that sometimes offer promo codes include Priceline, Hotwire, Groupon, Living Social, Goldstar, CityPass, Fandango, and Amazon, among others.  These companies provide promo codes to affiliate marketers like Fishing4Deals when special sales are in effect.

Before you make a purchase, feel free to check the Promo Codes tab at the top of the Fishing4Deals website to see if there are any current deals available.  Five or ten percent off a Priceline reservation or an already discounted Groupon deal can come in handy!

This post contains affiliate links.  Thanks if you choose to use them!

New Years Eve Priceline Coupon Code

Priceline Coupon CodeI love reeling in a good deal!

That’s why I enjoy bidding for “name your own price” hotels on Priceline

On December 31, 2013, for one day only, Priceline is offering an extra 5 percent discount off “name your own price” hotel rooms.

The coupon code is JE27MES7.

The discount applies only to two night reservations for two star hotels and above.

When I book Priceline hotels, I like to use my Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard® credit card, which earns two times points on Priceline reservations.  This no annual fee travel rewards credit card offers a $200 signup bonus (worth $220 because of a 10 percent bonus on redemptions).

We stayed at the Sheraton Times Square in NYC over Thanksgiving.   We booked the room through Priceline, and paid with the Barclaycard Arrival™ World MasterCard®.

Penn & Teller 2-For-1 Ticket Deal

Everything in Vegas has a promo code or can be comped so I was surprised how hard it was to find discount tickets for the  Penn & Teller show when we were in Las Vegas last summer.   Eventually, I tracked down a discount code on Travelzoo, but it was not as good the 2-for-1 deal as that Southwest Airlines is offering its passengers.Screen Shot 2013-08-30 at 6.38.32 PMPenn & Teller are illusionists extraordinaire — and their show combines humor, magic, and libertarian political philosophy.  Their shtick is to demonstrate how magic tricks are done.  Penn does all the talking and Teller is mostly mute.

Springtime in Hershey

Hershey Gardens Photo by Joel Shprentz
Hershey Gardens

In April, we stopped in Hershey, Pennsylvania for a day to break up a road trip from New England to Virginia.  We had visited the amusement park ten years ago, and wanted to explore other three different attractions on this trip.

First up was the free tour of the fake “Chocolate Factory,” because we love corny rides, factory tours, and chocolate!

The Chocolate Factory is a Disney-style animated ride that tells the story of how chocolate is produced from the growing the cocoa beans to producing Hershey Kisses.  On a Saturday morning, we were able to walk right in without a wait. The ride in little carts through the “factory” was lots of fun. The ride ended with a free sample and let us off in a gigantic chocolate gift shop with all manner of Hershey candy.

Cruising the Northeast Corridor — Half Price Crabs in Harve de Grace

If you are hoping to avoid the highway rest stops on a road trip from New York to Washington, DC  — there’s a great little place to eat at the halfway mark.

Price's Seafood - Harve de Grace, MD
Price’s Seafood – Harve de Grace, MD

Price’s Seafood, in Harve de Grace, Maryland is a rundown crab shack on the waterfront in the quaint town of Harve de Grace, just past the Hatam Bridge.

This quintessential Maryland crab house is not fancy, but the crabs are great.  You can eat inside or on the porch.  They put heavy brown paper down on the tables — just as it should be.  Crabs are seasonally priced.

Yelp.com has a deal that gives you $10 off a purchase of $20.
