I have not experimented much with the Field Trip app, but did use it on my recent trip to Lehi, UT. After indicating an interest in cool, hidden, and unique things nearby, the app pulled up interesting information on local architecture, historic places, museums, and most fun of all — movie locations.
Hat tip to TUAW.

Deb, great timing! I leave for Portland tonight and hopefully can save a few dollars this way 🙂 Would be even better if this is still valid in July for a few Chicago museums… Thanks!
This is a great deal for Chicago museums. They don’t specify an expiration date for the offer. The Field Trip app can point you to a lot of quirky attractions if that’s your thing.
Thanks for following BuildingMyBento! If you have any suggestions for posts, please let me know!
Thanks for this post on free museum admission too- hopefully, more locations will be added in NYC and Philadelphia.
Field Trip is a cool app for finding fun things to do. Let us know if you turn up more freebies in locations you visit.
